Episode 12 on Being an Ally: Elevating Our Marginalized Communities Women in Cable Telecommunications

Washington DC/Baltimore Chapter hosted a virtual discussion with Darryl Jones, featured on Episode 1 of HBO’s We’re Here, on being an ally for LGBTQ+ and other marginalized communities.

Darryl Jones is in his 34th year of college admissions as the Senior Associate Director of Admissions, and Coordinator for Multicultural Admission at Gettysburg College. He is a member of the College’s Presidentially-appointed Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Advancement (IDEA) Council; An annual facilitator/faculty member of the Garthwait Leadership Center Emerging Leaders Retreat; A frequent presenter at state and national association conferences, and at public and private schools nation-wide.

We’re Here https://www.hbo.com/were-here The six-part unscripted series follows small-town residents as they’re recruited and trained to participate in a one-night only drag performance. In each episode, former RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants Bob the Drag Queen, Eureka O’Hara and Shangela Laquifa Wadley will help prepare their “drag daughters” by teaching them how to step outside of their comfort zones.
